What is KnowRisk?
KnowRisk® is a product family of Project Risk Management tools, developed and offered by ProjectExperts. KnowRisk is oriented specifically to Project Risk, and should not be confused with organizational Risk management tools.

We've based KnowRisk on our Project Risk Assessment and evaluation experience, a service in our Project Management consulting practices. With KnowRisk, you can identify project Risks that you might otherwise overlook, then evaluate, select and implement recommended Risk Management options.

Ways to KnowRisk
KnowRisk IT is our original Microsoft Excel-based version of KnowRisk, with special Response and Strategy recommendations for the risks that are unique to Information Technology Projects. KnowRisk Lite is a reduced-function single-user, single-project version of our full KnowRisk product, for those who are new to Risk Management and wish to KnowRisk. It comes as a download (and on cd for USA customers only) with a Runtime version of Microsoft Access.

KnowRisk Pro is a single-user version of the full-featured KnowRisk tool, with a Runtime version of Microsoft Access.

KnowRisk SixPack Pro is perfect for your Project Management Office; it can run in standalone mode (perfect for travelling laptop users) or in network mode (for sharing your KnowRisk IntelliBase.

KnowRisk Site Pro or Enterprise Pro versions are also available. Use these versions to boost your PM Consultancy (as others have), to improve the effectiveness of your Project Management Office, or to increase the performance of your Project Oriented Enterprise, these are your smartest options.

Risk Management Insight
The primary purpose of Risk assessment is to improve communication among those who should manage the Risks. Some Risks are within the project manager's control, but are not identified soon enough to avoid them. Some are out of the immediate team's control, but well within the control of customers or managers.

The KnowRisk process has been available since 1988 through our Rapid Initial Planning® (RIP) consulting services. In a RIP session, we work with Project Executives, Customers, Managers and key team members to produce all or most (depending on the session objectives) of a complete PM Plan. For example, our RIP Initiation produces early estimates, Risk assessment, Initiative Staging, with Initial Schedules and Costs, and a preliminary PM Plan.

The KnowRisk Process
The KnowRisk process brings together team members and managers to discuss project Risks.

You identify the impact of those Risks, if left unmanaged. You discuss our recommended ways to can manage the Risks, to reduce their impact on your project.

Then you commit to Risk avoidance, containment and management methods. If you want to significantly reduce the Risks in your project, KnowRisk supports that Risk reduction. KnowRisk is great for Project Offices or Project Management Offices, too!

About the KnowRisk Technology
The KnowRisk Pro series is based on Microsoft Access 2007, and works in a Windows environment. Your Project Manager, Project Managment Office or internal consultants can use it in stand-alone mode or networked to a common database.
